Pune: At Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) core committee the highest decision making body today endorsed the candidature of Devendra Fadnavis for Chief Minister post. After that the state BJP legislative party elected as its leader.
Mr Fadnavis will take oath for the third time as the chief minister on Thursday in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mumbai tomorrow.
The BJP had appointed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as central observers, The Indian Express reported
The Mahayuti government’s swearing-in ceremony is set for December 5 in the evening at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan.
At least 2,000 women (ladki bahin) will attend the swearing-in ceremony. There will be CMs from 22 states including BJP-ruled or allies at the event. Apart from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah will also be present for the ceremony, the media reports said.
In his address after the legislative assembly meeting on Wednesday, Devendra Fadnavis extended heartfelt gratitude to all 132 MLAs and independent members who supported his candidature.
