Pune: SHOWERING praise on Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Congress’s crusading hero Rahul Gandhi today described Uddhav Thackeray as the ”Voice of Hindustan.”
”Every leader seated on the stage is the Voice of Hindustan. Uddhav Thackerayji is the Voice of Hindustan…,” said Rahul Gandhi amidst thunderous applause from a massive turnout at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park ground.
Rahul calling Uddhav Thackeray Voice of Hindustan will not go down with BJP, said Sena leaders.
Since early morning, Marathi news channels were playing and replaying the BJP leaders criticising Uddhav Thackeray for allowing Rahul Gandhi at Shivaji Park where Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray had addressed hundreds of rallies including his famous Dassera rallies.
Rahul Gandhi and Uddhav Thackeray were seated next to each other. Both of them were having conversations on and off. Both looked comfortable, something which again might not go down with BJP, said a Shiv Sena leader.
On his part, Uddhav Thackeray addressed the rally in Marathi. He welcomed Rahul Gandhi to Mumbai after his tireless effort to unite the country through his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai.
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was also present at the rally.
