Dr. Milind Kamble, Indumati Jondhale, Dr. Avinash Bhondve, Devika Ghorpade, and Sachin Khilari to be felicitated with the Urja Award, War widow Deepali More will be felicitated with the Shourya Award
Dr. Sadanand More, Dr. Vidya Yervadekar, Dr. Baba Adhav, and Dr. Prakash Amte will grace the function, informed Usha Kakade, Founder President of Gravittus Foundation
Pune: Senior social worker and Co-Founder of the Lokbiradari Prakalp at Hemalakasa (Bhamragarh), Gadchiroli, Dr. Mandakini Amte, will be honored with this year’s ‘Urja Lifetime Achievement Award’ by Gravittus Foundation on February 7, 2024, at Hotel Rami Grand Pune. Along with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Urja Awards will be given to various individuals for outstanding work in different fields.
Usha Kakade said, “Gravittus Foundation honors individuals who have made substantial and remarkable contributions in various fields by presenting Urja awards every year. Dr. Prakash and Dr. Mandakini Amte have spent five decades in remote areas like Bhamragarh in Gadchiroli district, following the legacy of senior social worker Baba Amte. In honor of her work in education and health services for the upliftment of the communities in Hemalkasa, Dr. Mandakini Amte will be awarded the ‘Urja Lifetime Achievement Award’ this year.”
“In addition to this, the founder of Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Dr. Milind Kamble; former president of the Indian Medical Association, Dr. Avinash Bhondve; world championship gold medalist boxer, Devika Ghorpade; and Asian Para Championship gold medalist in Men’s Shot, Sachin Khilari, will be awarded this year’s ‘Urja Award’. Also, Veerpatni Deepali More will be given the ‘Shaurya Award’ in memory of martyred jawan Vijay More,” she added.
Further, she said, “Dr. Vidya Yerwadekar, Pro-Chancellor of Symbiosis International University, will be present as a guest in the ceremony chaired by Dr. Sadanand More, President of the Maharashtra State Board of Literature and Culture. Dr. Baba Adhaav and Dr. Prakash Amte will have a special presence in this program. The format of this award includes a memento, a shawl, and a bouquet of flowers. This marks the tenth year of the award, and it is an effort to honor inspiring personalities by bringing them before society.”
Foundation’s Advisor Arun Khore said, “Through Gravittus Foundation, Usha Kakade has been regularly contributing to the fields of education, health, women’s empowerment, and the environment. It is their mission to honor individuals who work with dedication every year with the Urja Award so that we can draw inspiration from people who do remarkable work in society.
