Pune: The Maharashtra Congress today demanded criticised the Modi Government for freezing the accounts of the party right at the time of elections. The Congress said the BJP-led NDA government was harbouring fears of being unseated and therefore was indulging in blatant misuse of power.
”In a democracy, the opposition parties are the second alternative available to the people. However, due to the fear that it might not return to power, the Modi Government has frozen the accounts of Congress party by misusing power. It only symbolises the demonic power that the Modi Government seeks to weild to muzzle the voices of the opposition parties and the leaders,” said Congress spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari at a press conference today.
The Congress said the BJP-led Modi Government has stooped very low in a bid to divert attention of the voters from one of the biggest scams, the electoral bond scam, which has rocked the nation. ”In a bid to divert the public attention, the Modi Government was targetting the Congress party by freezing its accounts and putting all kind of hurdles and thorns so that the party is pegged on the backfoot. This manifests the ugly face of the BJP government led by Modi-Shah,” Mr Tiwari said.
Mr Tiwari said when the nation was celebrating Holi, they should burn the demonic power which is threatening our democracy and our constitution. ”To protect our democracy and our constitution, voters will have to lit up the bonfire of the demonic power which threatening to damage our constitution and the democracy,” he said.
Mr Tiwari said on the occasion of Holi, the people should take a vow to bring the INDIA bloc to power which is capable to taking the people of different sections of the society together and ensure communal harmony across the country. ”The Congress party wishes Happy Holi to entire Maharashtra and urges them to bring to power their own government which will address their each and every problem,” he said.
