Five exit polls – Matrize, Peoples Pulse, Chanakya Strategies, Times Now-JVC and Poll Diary – have predicted a BJP-led alliance lead in Maharashtra while three – Dainik Bhaskar, P-Marq and Lokshahi Marathi-Rudra – have predicted a hung house in Maharashtra.

While Dainik Bhaskar, Times Now-JVC and P-Marq predicted a hung assembly in Jharkhand, three exit polls – Matrize, Chanakya Strategies and Peoples Pulse – gave an edge to the NDA alliance while Axis My INDIA and Electoral Edge predicted a clear win for INDIA bloc in Jharkhand, the NDTV reported
The results for both states will be announced on November 23.
Voting for the single-phase Maharashtra elections across 288 assembly constituencies began at 7 am and concluded at 6 pm. The contest is between the ruling Mahayuti alliance – BJP, Shiv Sena and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) – Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction).
In the 2019 elections, the BJP won the maximum number of seats (105) followed by Shiv Sena (56) and the Congress (44).
Jharkhand is voting in the second and final phase of the assembly elections. The first phase was held on November 13. The primary contest in the state is between the ruling JMM-led INDIA bloc and the BJP-headed National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the NDTV reported.
Several pollsters predicted a comfortable majority for the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance indicating the saffron team is likely to retain power while Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) – which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP).
In Jharkhand, several pollsters predicted a tough battle between the BJP-led NDA and Congress-JMM alliance indicating a divided assembly. Over 9.7 crore voters participated in today’s voting, according to election officials, the Hindustan Times reported.
