The Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress initiated a large-scale protest today in Pune with the slogan “Provide Jobs, Not Drugs” to confront the escalating unemployment crisis and the rising issues faced by young people. Thousands of Youth Congress activists flooded the streets to demand accountability from the state and central government for the increasing unemployment and associated problems.
The protest was organised in the presence of Uday Bhanu Chib, the National President of the Indian Youth Congress.
According to the report in Pune Mirror,the protest, spearheaded by the Youth Congress, initiated from the Congress Bhavan in Pune and was directed towards the Deccan region. However, at Bal Gandharv Chowk, the police authorities halted the procession and apprehended a significant number of Youth Congress workers. This incited fury among the demonstrators, who tried to push through the barriers. The police reacted forcefully, arresting the protestors. This resulted in a brief increase in tensions.
Present at the protest were key individuals such as State In-charge Ajay Chikara, President Kunal Raut, Ehsan Khan, Rohit Kumar, Media Department President Akshay Jain, Saurabh Amarale, Umesh Pawar, Kaustubh Navle, Ajit Singh, Vaishnavi Kirad, Deepali Sasane, Prathamesh Abnave, Pravin Biradar, Srinivas Nalmwar, Tariq Bagwan, Ganesh Ubale, and others. In their speeches, they all pledged to enhance the fight, reported Pune Mirror.
