Pune, May 2, 2025: In a significant action, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of the Local Crime Branch has seized 64 kg of ganja worth Rs 13 lakh 28 thousand in various operations in the city. In this regard, the police have arrested three people.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Pappu Chakradhar Devri (age 32, a resident of Odisha), Chandan Subhash Kunwar (age 19, a resident of Odisha), and Rakesh Rupsingh Pawra (age 25, a resident of Dhule). These accused were selling illegal narcotic substances in various parts of the city.
As per the information, the team of the NCB was patrolling in the Pune Railway Station area. At that time, they received a tip-off from their informant that Devri and Kunwar were coming to the station area for the illegal sale of ganja and other narcotics. Accordingly, the team laid a trap and detained both of them. Upon inspection, the police found 30 kg of ganja worth 6 lakh 24 thousand rupees from them.
Similarly, in another action, the police learnt that one person was coming from the Dhule to the Wakdewadi ST stand area for the sale of narcotics. After that, police also laid a trap and detained him. The police seized 34 kilos of ganja from him. The police have registered cases against Devri and Kunwar at Bundgarden police station, whereas a Pawra was booked at Khadki police station.
