Directed acceleration of the development works of Ekvira Temple complex in Karla
Coordination with the Central Government for road widening and flyovers to ease highway traffic congestion in Maval
Tourist police stations to be established in Lonavala and Karla for the safety of tourists and devotees
Mumbai, February 27: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar conducted a meeting to expedite road and water projects in Maval taluka. During the meeting, Pawar directed the rapid completion of projects such as the sub-district hospitals of Lonavala and Vadgaon (Kanhe) in Maval Taluka, Pune district, and a well-equipped sports complex in Mouje Jambhul which will be a source of pride for Maval Taluka. Moreover, water supply projects in Dehu Nagar Panchayat, Khadkale, Varale, Done Adhale, Dongargaon, Kusgaon, Patan, Karla, and nearby areas should be expedited. In Mouje Karla, a funicular ropeway and the development of the Shri Ekvira Temple complex should be completed urgently, Pawar directed. He was speaking at a meeting held in Mantralaya on Thursday.
Tourist police stations will be set up in Lonavala and Karla to ensure the safety of tourists and devotees.
To solve the growing traffic congestion on highways in Maval Taluka, the Central Government will pursue road widening and flyover projects through the Chief Minister. “I will personally look into it and ensure progress,” Pawar stated during the meeting.
A high-level meeting was organized to resolve implementation challenges in Maval Taluka’s development projects. Also present at the meeting were Public Health Minister Prakash Ambitkar (via VC), local MLA Sunil Shelke, senior officials from Urban Development, Public Works, Finance & Planning, Water Supply & Sanitation, Health, MSRDC, MSIDC, Home, Sports, and other departments, as well as the District Collector of Pune and senior police officials from Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune Rural.
Guiding the meeting, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar stated, “Every year, millions of devotees visit the Shri Ekvira Devi Temple. Development work is underway in the temple complex to ensure better facilities. A funicular ropeway project at Shri Ekvira Devi Temple in Vehergaon has been approved, enabling devotees to reach the temple quickly. This project should be completed promptly.”
Further instructions by Pawar included completing the first construction phase for Lonavala and Vadgaon (Kanhe) sub-district hospitals and a sports complex covering 2.6 hectares in Mouje Jambhul, Maval Taluka with facilities for kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, football, tennis, a running track, and a stadium. Pawar directed that the projects should commence with the sanctioned budget, and additional funding will be provided if required.
Acceleration of Water Supply Projects
Pawar reviewed various water supply projects under the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran and directed the speedy execution of water supply schemes for Done Adhale, Dongargaon-Kusgaon, Patan & 8 villages, Karla & 7 villages.
