To prevent GBS, drink boiled water, eat pure vegetarian food regularly. – Dr. Kalyan Gangwal
Pune: A disease called GBS has been spreading in the suburbs of Pune for a few days and so far 11 people have died in Pune due to this disease. Campylobacter jejuni Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) is a species of bacteria and is a major cause of zoonotic disease worldwide. This disease spreads through contaminated water as well as raw, undercooked meat. For this, water should be boiled and bleaching powder should be used for drinking. If possible, leafy vegetables, fruits, pulses etc. should be included in the diet. There is nothing to panic as this disease is not contagious. This is what Dr. Kalyan Gangwal said.
Gangwal said that the Animal Husbandry Department has detected a bacterium called Campylobacter jejuni, which causes GBS, in samples taken from poultry farms. Apart from this, ‘Norovirus’, which causes vomiting and diarrhea, has also been found, ‘Campylobacter jejuni’ is usually found in chickens. Avoid meat to prevent GBS disease. Apart from this, to prevent GBS, drink boiled water, eat pure vegetarian food regularly. This will help a lot in curing GBS.
Usually many people in our country eat chicken, egg and mutton. Apart from this, many people in our country eat outside food. In this, fast food is consumed a lot. Often cleanliness and care is not maintained by those people outside. Therefore, to avoid exposure to GBS, one can eat home-cooked food and avoid meat if possible. Dr. Kalyan Gangwal, founder of Sarvajeev Mangal Pratishthan, a supporter of the vegetarian movement, has appealed to all Puneites to prevent GBS disease, stated a press release.
