Pune: Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University and Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, successfully completed its third batch of Himalayan training during Basic Mountaineering Cource at Uttarkashi as a part of Diploma in Mountaineering & Allied Sports.
16 students of the third batch after completing 10 days Sahyadri training in first semester, went to NIM for high altitude training. They underwent various techniques and skills of rock, snow and ice crafts in very challenging weather conditions. All the participants did a height gain up to 14,850 ft and successfully completed their Basic Mountaineering Course Training. Harish Ballal received the best trainee award for his extraordinary performance during the course.
The students received guidance from NIM senior faculty Deep Sahi, Surya Rawat, Sumit Negi, Shana Madam along with GGIM senior faculty Everest summiter Krishna Dhokale. NIM’s Wice Principal Capt. Dr. Ashok Kumar was the training Incharge for this course.
After completing the training, during the graduation ceremony students were awarded special Badges of course completion at the hands of NIM principal Col Anshuman Bhadauria.
