Pune: The Bhartiya Janta Party which is taking its own time to release its list is not showing any unnecessary haste in a bid to ensure that it fields candidates only with elective merti.
The fifth list of the party released on Sunday has a surprise. It includes the actor Kangana Ranaut from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, popular actor Arun Govil who is famous for playing the role of ”Ram” in Ramayan serial, from Merut in Uttar Pradesh and former Justice Abhijit Gangopadhya from Tamluk Lok Sabha constituency in in West Bengal. The former Calcutta high court judge had recently resigned and joined the BJP.

The BJP has fielded K Surendran to take on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Waynad Lok Sabha seat. Surendran is BJP Kerala chief. In 2019, Rahul Gandhi had won the seat with a massive margin though he had lost the Amethi seat to Smriti Iran of BJP.
