On Saturday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis introduced COP-24, a new patrol initiative designed to enhance law enforcement and minimize police response times in the city. He inaugurated 39 four-wheel vehicles and several motorcycles as part of this initiative.
Fadnavis visited Pune to participate in Tarang, a cultural event organized for police officers and their families. Among those in attendance at the event were Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol, and ministers Chandrakant Patil and Madhuri Misal, among others.
The crime branch will oversee the COP-24 system, promoting a more organized and effective placement of police forces throughout the city. It will utilize technology, data analysis, and live monitoring to improve public safety, especially in areas with high crime rates.
The updated system features 39 CR mobile vans and 125 motorcycles. Out of these, almost 60 motorcycles will be utilized for responding to Dial 112 emergency calls, while the rest will be employed for various policing duties.
