A team from the Assam Police’s crime branch reached Pune on Thursday evening to serve a notice to standup comedian Samay Raina at his home regarding a case lodged against him for reportedly promoting obscenity during his show ‘India’s Got Latent’, news agency ANI reported.
The Assam Police has issued summons to YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani, asking them to be present in person in connection with the case filed in the northeastern state. In addition to these two, notices have also been sent to standup comedian Jaspreet Singh and social media influencer Apoorva Makhija.
Ranveer Allahbadia has been facing substantial backlash after appearing on Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’. The uproar started when Ranveer Allahbadia asked a controversial question about parents, leading to FIRs filed against the judges Raina, Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija.
