The Governor of Manipur has declared the forthcoming Assembly session ‘null and void’ just hours after Chief Minister Biren Singh resigned, reports news agency PTI.
Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Sunday cancelled the new Manipur Assembly session, only hours after N Biren Singh stepped down as the Chief Minister. The new Assembly session was scheduled to commence on February 10.
The Governor declared in an official notification that the January 24 decree that had set the commencement date of the Assembly session for February 10 was now “null and void,” reported the Hindustan Times.
