Pune, May 3, 2025: On Friday, May 2, a college-going student was found dead in the college hostel. The Deccan Police have registered a case of accidental death in this case.
The deceased student has been identified as Bhushan Dhumne (age 19, an original resident of Wardha). Bhushan was a law student, and he was studying at Navalmal Firodia Law College of Deccan Education Society on the premises of Fergusson College.
As per the information, on Friday morning, Bhushan was found unconscious in the hostel premises of the college. After that, the students in the hostel informed the college administration about this. He was then immediately admitted to a private hospital. However, Bhushan died before being admitted into the hospital.
Following the incident, the Deccan police reached the hostel and conducted a primary investigation. In the investigation, the police found a packet of pills along with a prescription note from doctors there. The police then sent Bhushan’s body to Sassoon Hospital for autopsy. The police have informed that the exact reason behind his death will be known after the autopsy report.
Meanwhile, the police also questioned his friends and registered a case of accidental death in this regard at the Deccan Police Station. “Bhushan’s body has been sent for autopsy, and the police will proceed further in the case after the autopsy report comes out. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing, and the we are trying to ascertain if there was any mental pressure on Bhushan which might have provoked him to commit suicide or if there are other aspects involved in the case,” said Senior Police Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar of the Deccan Police Station.
